Hi! I'm Kevin and I'm a Front-end Developer who likes design and technology. In my spare time I like to sketch and develop new applications and sometimes I do weird dance moves. Since I was child I was always drawn to art and novels. Web Design allows me to unleash my full potential. To express my strengths as a creative individual, and programming improves my reasoning skills. I love to have philosophical discussions and listen to people's stories to see things from their perspective and explore new ways of thinking. I'm a second year student at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences and currently studying Creative Media and Game Technologies.
A personal start-up idea for a dating website for anime, game and
cosplay fans. I've built the Front-end for this project with HTML5,
CSS3 and JavaScript. For the styling I've mainly used CSS flexbox,
grid and media queries to make the website responsive. I still have
future plans for this project to build a back-end system so people
can chat with each other, make friends etc. I want to do this with
the Python framework Django.
A hobby project where I've built an application to save my favourite
Korean Drama's so I can talk with my friends about all the dramas
I've watched.
Banjo-Tooie is a game which I've used to play in my childhood. I
wanted to learn how to work with EventListeners in JavaScript that's
why I've built this project to have a deeper understanding of how
they exactly work. You can press the corresponding buttons on your
keyboard to activate the sound or you can mouse click. Have fun
laughing about this web app.
A simple quiz web application which I made back in 2021. Hope you
know the answers to these questions. You need to know Dutch in order
to take this quiz.
Sometimes we feel a bit uninspired so before you start your day make
sure to generate a random quote. I made this by working mainly with
the Math.random function to show random quotes when you click the
button.
In this project I've used pagination to search through the example
student data. I've mainly used for-loops to iterate over the list
items.
With HTML5 I mainly work with semantic tags and BEM notation to keep my code clean. To visualise and animate certain things aesthetically I use CSS3 and I'm currently learning how to work with SCSS/SASS. I use JavaScript mainly for creating APIs.
I'm currently learning how to work component based with React.
My favourite programming language which I love to use. I've used Python frameworks like Django to create a get data from a MySQL database and Flask to create a blogging system. When I have complete mastery in Front-end Development I would like to specialize in Python. You can use Python for almost anything and I believe it's the language of our future!
I've used Node together with Express to create my own RESTFul API. I'm working on a project where my team is mainly using Express for features like reading data from an Arduino, authentification, and to use Mongoose to create relational data. I'm a huge fan of NoSQL databases because the models are flexible when there is a need for change.
